Vanderbilt’s ACCRE selects Hammerspace for an LStore-based data architecture

Hammerspace announced that Vanderbilt University’s Advanced Computing Center for Research and Education (ACCRE) has deployed its data platform as part of an LStore-based architecture, and expects to reduce its average cost of storage by roughly 48 percent while providing faster, more flexible data access to the Vanderbilt research community.

In the deployment, LStore provides the fault-tolerant distributed storage substrate and Hammerspace orchestrates a unified namespace across tiers, with the LStore tier presented through a standard NFS-exported path. The reported cost reduction is attributed to the tiered, LStore-based design rather than an all-flash approach.
